Screen Maintenance
(Australian Compressed Hardwood) Maintenance.
Painting of Screens:
Before commencing make sure the Raw Screen is free of dirt or debris, then following the manufacturer’s directions apply a coat of quality external primer to the surfaces, once the primer has been allowed to dry, apply two coats of an exterior grade 100% acrylic or solvent-based paint systems. For Acrylic and Solvent-based finishes, we recommend you follow the manufacturer’s instructions or consult a painting professional.
Oiling of Screens:
Before commencing make sure the Raw Screen is free of dirt or debris, then following the manufacturer’s directions apply a coat of quality external decking oil to the surfaces, once the first coat has been allowed to dry, apply another coat, for the best finish we recommend you follow the manufacturer’s instructions or consult a painting professional.
Maintenance:
Regularly wash the painted/oiled surface with clean water to remove dirt and grime and to improve the performance of the coating. Generally, exterior surface coatings deteriorate by chalking rather than flaking, when repainting or oiling becomes necessary wash down with water and remove all loose chalk, dirt and dust by sanding with a fine grid paper, and finally, dust off. Apply a minimum of two coats of paint/oil in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. We recommend using Cabbott’s Aquadec or equivalent when oiling our Decorative Screens.
ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) Maintenance.
Maintenance:
Immediately after installation all construction soils, concrete and mortars should be quickly removed. ACM panels should be cleaned in regular intervals using water and a pH neutral cleaning agent. It may be washed with clean water and a mild detergent, followed by a clean water rinse. Do not attempt to clean sun-heated surfaces (above 40 °C), doing this will help to avoid rapid drying which may lead to stain formation. The cleaning operation must be followed by a thorough rinse with clean water to ensure the removal of all remnants of the cleansing agent. A final wipe down by means of a sponge, or wipe is necessary to avoid water stains.
